Lake Hope State Park

Lake Hope State Park is located in Vinton Co., 20 mi. west of Athens. Programs offer area history & its colorful past.

Hike 17 mi. of trails, or trek the 26 mi. backpack trail in Zaleski State Forest. A 14 mi. mountain bike trail challenges experienced bikers. Horseback ride 6 mi. of trails in the park or 33 mi. of trails in the state forest. Picnic areas have tables & grills, w/reservable shelters.

120-acre Lake Hope offers a sand beach. Laid-back boating is limited to boats w/electric motors only. Boat rental is available & launch ramp provides easy lake access. Enjoy fishing from shore. Hunting permitted in adjacent state forest.

Cottages available for year-round vacations & getaways. 2 & 3 bdrm. cottages have kitchens, bathroom, living room, porch, heat & A/C. Some cottages have fireplaces.

223 campsites available with/without electric. Amenities are showers. Try hassle-free camping in a Rent-A-Camp, Rent-A-Tepee or Camper Cabin.
