Old Plantation Restaurant

Medicine Park, unique with its eccentric cobble buildings, was originally founded on July 4th, 1908 by Oklahoma Senator Elmer Thomas. Medicine Park was Oklahoma’s first planned tourism resort located in the Wichita Mountains that drew state legislators, journalists and gangsters.

Listed on the National Historic Register, the Old Plantation Restaurant was famous for “steaks so big they hang over the plate” and Grandma’s homemade rolls. It was originally the Outside Inn which then became the Grand Hotel which moved on to be the Old Plantation before its recent closing. Once again, however, is it being restored to its original grandeur for yet another lifetime of memories.

The Outside Inn became the Grand Hotel became the Old Plantation and now awaits its next life.
