Alamo

An irrigated area of southern Hidalgo County, Alamo was incorporated in 1924 and named for the Alamo Land and Sugar Company. The town is well known as one of the Valley’s gateways to Mexico, via U.S. 281 to Nuevo Progreso. The location is a beautiful winter resort-retirement area with an abundance of vegetables and citrus in the vicinity as well.
