Butler Community College

El Dorado has been home to Butler Community College since it was founded in 1927. The then El Dorado Junior College was originally housed within the town’s Junior High School. Today the college is located at the southwest corner of Haverhill and Towanda. The El Dorado campus is home to 256 students living on campus. We are proud to serve over 2500 students who attend classes at our site.

Butler encompasses a five-county service area including Butler, Chase, Marion, Greenwood, and Morris counties with centers in Andover, El Dorado, Marion, Eureka, Council Grove, Rose Hill and at Wichita’s McConnell Air Force Base. Butler serves more than 8,000 credit students through more than 26 different community locations, while providing a broad range of academic, technical, customized and noncredit courses.
