Cedar Cove – Feline Conservatory

Located just 4 miles east of Louisburg, Kansas on Highway 68, Cedar Cove is a nonprofit organization devoted to the care and preservation of Siberian tigers and other endangered big cats. Proud members of the American Association of Zoo Keepers. William Pottorff, President and Senior Curator, and Shelly Tooley, General Curator, have created in Cedar Cove a truly unique learning experience! Cedar Cove is not a typical zoo, every visit includes a guided tour of the facility with time taken to answer all questions and teach guests about the wonderful characteristics of each large cat.

Cedar Cove is constantly being enlarged and improved. A recently completed project has created an open area of more than two acres where the tigers can “roam wild”. This restricted access area has a stream and a pond as well as trees and a shaded area for the cats. Ultimately there will be an elevated walkway / viewing area so people can watch the cats relax and play and the cats can watch the people relax too!

Schedule a group tour for your office, friends or family! Ask about Special Classes on Large Felines offered by the Staff of Cedar Cove through the Fort Scott Community College.

Open to the public every weekend during the season.
