Greenbrier Valley Theatre – Lying in State
Comedy by David C. Hyer – June 28*, 29, 30, July 5, 7, 15(two shows), 20, 28, & August 5.
A state senator has been made into a national hero as a result of a ludicrous gun accident. As he is being laid to rest, the local political party officials are already doggedly searching for someone to fill his Senate seat. Meanwhile, his apathetic ex-wife is looking for a bugler to play for his funeral. With Buttons, the stripper, and a host of other comical characters looking for love, votes, the right casket, and a big purple squirrel named Mel, Lying in State is a delightfully wacky spoof of love and politics.
