Greenbrier Valley Theatre – The Moving of Lilla Barton

Comedy by John MacNicholas – October 18*,19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, November 2, 3, & 4

The attempts of the lay leadership of an Alabama church to remove Lilla Barton, wife of their deceased minister, from the church vicarage, are thwarted when she refuses to budge. After all, she and her husband designed and built the rectory, and now that her husband has passed on, they want to evict her! A comical cast of eccentric characters surrounds Lilla and pulls her in all directions, but they find themselves stuck in a quandary in this warm, touching play. Winner of a Roger L. Stevens Award from the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays.
