Weston Gold Robbery Days

A Civil War Reenactment of one of the most important events in West Virginia’s history will be held Saturday, June 24, 2006. On June 30, 1861, $27,000 (approximately a half a million dollars today) in gold was robbed from a Weston Bank and used for the Reorganized government of Virginia at Wheeling. This money paved the way for the new state’s admission to the Union during the Civil War.

Also, enjoy Irish Road Bowling at 1:30pm.

Weston is located off I-79 at Exit 99. Follow the signs into town.
