Georgetown

Georgetown was established in 1848 as the trade center for this agricultural region. The county seat of Williamson County lies at the edge of black, fertile farmland and Hill Country ranch lands. Participation in Main Street Project has resulted in the preservation and restoration of Georgetown’s downtown Victorian commercial architecture. The city is the site of Southwestern University, a prestigious Methodist school founded in 1840.

Visitors may tour a factory that produces more than a thousand kinds of colorful, decorative candles.
