Kiowa

Old Kiowa moved four miles southeast to its present location to be on the route of the Southern Kansas Railroad. In a Kiowa saloon, ax-wielding prohibition crusader Carry Nation made her first attack on payday-celebrating cowboys. Carry Nation and Oklahoma Land Run memorabilia can be seen at the Historical Society Museum.

A place to slow down.
