Cuming County
Cuming County surrounds the beautiful Elk Horn Valley offering a variety of outdoor recreational activities from fishing and hunting around the Elk Horn River to hiking across the scenic countryside and observing natural species of wildlife and plant varieties.
The Elk Horn River runs alongside the town of Beemer and provides a scenic backdrop to the Indian Trails Golf Course. In the northeast corner of the county in Bancroft is the historic study of John G. Neihardt, noted poet and author of Black Elk Speaks located on the grounds of the State Historical Society’s Neihardt Center. History buffs will find interesting artifacts and information at the Cuming County Historical Museum Complex in West Point, and at the Wisner Heritage Museum in Wisner.
