Annual Charro Days Fiesta

Celebrates the longtime friendship between Brownsville and its sister city, Matamoros, Mexico. The history of Charro Days dates back to 1937, and it’s still going strong today. Baile del Sol kicks off the weeklong list of festivities. Children and adults from both sides of the border participate in the different parades that travel down Elizabeth Street.
