Early fall in Carson City wouldn’t be complete without St. Teresa of Avila’s famous Basque Festival. To honor the rich traditions of Northern Nevada’s Basque heritage, this daylong event is held the third Sunday of September, and has grown into a community-wide celebration. An estimated 2,000 people attend the Basque Festival, enjoying the authenticity of fantastic food, events, and entertainment. Quite simply there isn’t a better way to spend an autumn Sunday. Gates open at 11:00 a.m.
