Playground Grand Opening

Enjoy free hot dogs and ice cream, live music, activities for kids and adults, and break in the new community playground. Make sure not to miss the ribbon cutting ceremony with volunteer and honoree, Pittsburgh Steeler, Josh Dobbs, at 11:30AM! This 2019 event is free and open to the public.
The Children’s Home had over 13,000 square feet of green space waiting to be developed in a way that would be beneficial for all children. Our new playground will feature sensory tunnels, a wheelchair swing, and will be fully equipped to provide not only medically fragile kids at The Children’s Home with limitless play, but also children in the Bloomfield/Garfield Community. It will include double wide bridges and ramps to make it accessible to children in wheelchairs.
