Deines Cultural Center The Deines Center is the permanent home of the wood engravings of nationally known artist, E. Hubert Deines. The Deines work is displayed on a rotating basis in the west end of the main gallery. In addition, the Deines Cultural Center features other artists' works and traveling exhibits on a regular basis. Exhibits are changed monthly.

Exhibitions range from ceramics, paintings, and sculpture to other media. In the permanent collection are also 50 works of other artists. Entirely different visual collections, as well as showings of local artists are offered in the gallery of the center. The Deines Cultural Center also houses concerts, workshops and classes, providing quality art programs for the community.

In 1989, J. Luther Deines gave to the City of Russell the art collection of his brother, E. Hubert Deines, the former Deines Brothers Furniture Store, and $259,620 in order to renovate the building into a cultural arts center. The first floor of the spacious building was completed and opened to the public in October, 1990. The center consists of 17,000 square feet. There is an art education center in the basement and the upstairs contains additional gallery space and meeting rooms.
