The Alabama Hiking Trail Society Annual Conference is the largest gathering of hikers, backpackers, and outdoor lovers in the state. The event, sponsored by the non-profit AHTS and Cheaha State Park, will be held in historic Bald Rock Lodge at the park. The weekend is highlighted with two tracks of presentations covering a wide variety of topics ranging from hiking and backpacking gear, tips, and destinations to Alabama history, to environmental issues. Throughout the weekend there will be entertainment, food, raffles, a silent auction, and of course - short hikes atop Cheaha Mountain. Everyone is invited to take part in the photo contest for prizes.
