This annual observance celebrates the cowboy as symbol of the American West. Join the celebration of cowboy heritage, love of the land and in particular the Flint Hills region: barrel racing, calf roping, bull riding, leather stamping, face painting, buckboard rides and cattle calling. Rodeo queens and rodeo clowns also interact with guests, and mayor's proclamation of Day of the Cowboy at Flint Hills Discovery Center. Fourth Saturday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Kansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial
The 13x46 foot, black granite memorial was dedicated to the men and women who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. The memorial lists the names of the 797 Kansans who were either killed or are still officially listed as Missing in Action.
