Event Details

Saturday before Easter - This Alma Chamber of Commerce event is held at the Wabaunsee County Courthouse lawn. Children up to age 8 are divided into age groups and enjoy hunting for eggs. Each child is given a sack of candy from the Easter Bunny. The sack includes a list of businesses that the children can visit to receive an additional Easter gift.

Alma City Office

This beautiful and stately native stone building was once one of the finest building in town. It was built in the early 1880s by the Limerick Brothers, two red-headed Irishmen. These freckled, Irishmen came swinging into Alma with a fortune of $375,000 to invest, which they did in splendid style.

Peace United Church of Christ

This native stone church was erected in 1881. Peter Land and August Beutel were responsible for the construction of the church. The bell and tower were added in 1897, as a gift of Johann and Maria Klockman.

Wabaunsee High School

WHS serves the communities of Alma, McFarland, Paxico and Maple Hill. It was constructed in 1938 and is an example of one of the many native stone buildings located in Alma. With its limestone exterior and red tile roof, it is considered one of the most beautiful high schools in Kansas.
