Event Details

The Christmas Light Parade is held the 1st Sunday in December. There are many imaginative uses of lights on machinery, vehicles, people and animals. It's a festive way to begin the Christmas season! The Light Parade is judged by the Chamber President, City Mayor and the Publisher of the Colby Free Press. Prizes are awarded to the top two placers in each of the five categories.

Built in 1906, Thomas County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Romanesque Revival style building is graced by the "Spirit of the Prairie"

The Cooper Barn is one of the largest barns in Kansas and holds a wealth of Thomas County History. The cattle barn was built in 1936 and was part of the Foster Farms operation. The barn is 66 feet wide, 114 feet long and 48 feet high. It was moved to the site in 1992 and houses the exhibit "
