Event Details
Enjoy family friendly games and demonstrations of period skills and crafts. Demonstrators include rope makers, blacksmiths, candle makers, hide tanners, a cooper making buckets, a miller grinding wheat into flour, and archers. Entertainers and musicians will perform throughout the day. A circuit rider preacher will preside over a non-denominational service at 11 a.m. The Pony Express mochila exchange will be reenacted in the afternoon. Wagon rides will be available for a fee. Lemonade, soft drinks, water, pie, and ice cream will be available for purchase.
This annual event is presented in cooperation with the Friends of Hollenberg Station. Hollenberg Pony Express Station State Historic Site is located at 2889 23rd Road, Hanover. For more information, call 785-337-2635.
