The annual Higginsville, MO Black History Month Celebration will be held on Saturday at 6 pm at the Salem United Church of Christ. The event is sponsored by the Higginsiville Black History Month Planning Committee. The theme is "Why We Celebrate Black History Month, Who We Are, and We We Came From." Guest speaker is Reverend Dr. Isaish Muita. There will be a Q & A session with Rev. Muita. Music will be provided by the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Evangelist Eveyln and Reverend Glenn Elmore.
A reception immediately follows the program. Also an African American History display will be available for viewing.
