Event Details

The celebration includes a softball tournament, mud volleyball, turtle races, best decorated turtle, sack races, 3 legged races, horseshoe pitching contests, July 4th Prince and Princess Contests and fireworks display at dusk. Handicap Accessible.

On The Chisholm Trail Statue

Oklahoma's largest bronze sculpture (16' high and 35" long) stands in Duncan, adjacent to the museum. The sculpture shows a chuch wagon followed by longhorn cattle on the move northward. Cowboys are intent on the herd. Of interest to young observers is the trail dog trotting alongside.

Stephens County Historical Museum

The Stephens County Museum, located at the old National Guard Armory, was accepted into the National Registry of Historic Places in the Spring of 1997.
