Event Details

Organizers and musicians D.C. and Selby Minner unveiled the first Dusk to Dawn Blues Festival during the Labor Day weekend of 1990. And the musical marathon has mushroomed into a uniquely successful happening in McIntosh County with state-wide appeal.

Called a "roots festival," it takes place on the home place where D.C. grew up. The three-day program showcases the rich and not-too-well-known legacy of Oklahoma blues where barbecue and music are served up all night long - and much of the day!

In 1996, the site on Rentiesville road brought about 100 instrumental and vocal blues talents from across the nation for a gig at the Honey Springs Trading Post and Down Home Blues Club.

The schedule ranges from a guitar showdown and jam session to gospel music on two stages, indoor and outdoor.
