The Scottish & Celtic Heritage Festival will feature day-long Scottish/Irish music and dancing; raffles including Scottish Dirk; children's activities; food; Celtic-themed vendors; storytelling; artisan demonstrations; Clan exhibits/history, genealogy; local history exhibits; bagpipers; Bonnie Knees competition and Pot of Gold Treasure Hunt. The festival hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Parkersburg (WV) City Park Pavilion. Tickets are $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free. Blennerhassett Island - Island Frolic Evening Cruise
July 29th at 6:30 pm board a Sternwheeler for a three hour Island frolic. Enjoy the sunset, bicycle rides for children, narrated horse-drawn wagon rides, and a picnic of hotdogs, chips and drinks. This tour is also offered August 11 and 25. Reservations are required.

Sunday Sundae September 9th includes a sternwheeler tour around the island with a stop for a hand-dipped ice cream sundae. A 6:30 pm board a sernwheeler for a three hour tour. Detailed information is available online and is provided when making reservations.
