At Arkadelphia Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway rises from the Timberlands and meets the Ouachita Mountains at sparkling DeGray Lake, which affords ample opportunities for camping, fishing, water skiing, motor boating and other water sports. Also, the nearby Caddo and Ouachita rivers are popular for fishing, canoeing and floating. Arkadelphia, which is home to Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist Universty, is located along Interstate 30, 67 miles from Little Rock, 41 miles from the Crater of Diamonds State Park, and 26 miles from Hot Springs.
