Seminole, Texas

Seminole was established and named the county seat shortly after Gaines County was organized in 1905, and was named for nearby Indian watering places. Gaines County is among the state's leaders in petroleum production, cotton, and peanuts.Seminole's school district covers some 1,149 square miles.
