Cooper, Texas

Founded in 1874 in the rich farming area between the North and South Sulphur rivers, Cooper is the principal commercial center and seat of Delta County.

Just south of the downtown square is the historic McKinney home with elegant furnishings of a gracious living era. Although it is opened by appointment only, it is worth checking with the local chamber of commerce for an appointment.

Annual events include the Cooper Lake Bass Classic in April, the Delta County Roping Club Rodeo and Jamboree in June, the Dickens Christmas Festival and lighted parade on first Saturday in December, and the Fall Festival Days in October.
