Hillsboro, Texas
Hillsboro is the principal trade center and seat of Hill County, established in 1853. In frontier tradition, the first courthouse was a log cabin. The Chamber of Commerce office and Visitor Center is located in the old MK&T RR depot.
Known for the restored Hill Country Courthouse after a devastating fire of New Year's Day 1993, Hillsboro is home to many restored Victorian homes. Driving tours pass renovated homes and the restored downtown area which offers more than 200 antique dealers, several bed and breakfasts, speciality shops, and historical sites.
