Pleasanton, Texas

Pleasonton was established in 1858, but was preceded by much earlier Spanish, Mexican and Anglo-American ranching activities. The town bills itself as the "Birthplace of the Cowboy," epitomized by a bronze statue in front of the city hall. Hunters seek white-tailed deer (among the largest in Texas) as well as dove and quail during the fall and winter hunting seasons.
