Lone Star Presbyterian Church

The Lone Star Presbyterian Church denotes the strong religious faith of the settlers. The Charming white country church was built in 1915 north of Gem, Kansas. In 1988, the building was moved to the museum site. It was the third time the building had been moved.

Wareham Hotel

Harry P. Wareham moved with his family from Flush, Kansas in 1868, when he was two years old and when he was nine and his brother, William, was eleven, their father died. Mrs. Wareham, Sarah, established the Wareham Millinery Company, which she ran for many years.

Osborne Carnegie Research Library

The Osborne Carnegie Library is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1912

Atchison County Courthouse

One of 13 Kansas courthouses designed by George P. Washburn, this ashlar limestone building was completed in 1897, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The clock tower was raised an extra 12 feet from the original design so that it could be seen downtown.

Rock City

The rocks at Rock City are huge sandstone concretions in an area about the size of two football fields, 200 rocks--some as large as houses -- dot the landscape. There is no other place in the world where there are so many concretions of such giant size.
