The Thomas House

Thomas House Bed & Breakfast is located in the Historic Distric on Main Street one block from the Visitors Center and within walking distance of Snappy Lunch, Floyd’s City Barber Shop and the Andy Griffith Playhouse.The Thomas House was built in 1865

Snappy Lunch

Snappy Lunch was mentioned on the Andy Griffith Show and Andy ate here as a young boy. Snappy Lunch is Mount Airy's oldest restaurant, circa 1923. Oprah Winfrey and the Incredible Hulk, Lou Ferrigno have been visitors. The Snappy Lunch was featured in the November 1998 issue of Gourmet.

Old City Jail

The Mayberry Jail is a local re-creation of "The Courthouse" seen in so many episodes of the The Andy Griffith Show. The Old City Jail was Mount Airy's real jail for many years. The Old City Jail is also the site of the annual Mayberry Days Proclamation by the Mayor. The vintage 1962
