Lake Powell National is referred to as the "Crown Jewel" of golf in Northern Arizona. A new championship 18-hole course was built by the City of Page in 1995. Don't let the designation "public" scare you, it's much more like a country club setting. Designed by Williams Phillips this course offers world-class play at reasonable fees.
Sitting on a high mesa overlooking the impressive Glen Canyon Dam, beautiful Lake Powell, and Vermillion Cliffs, this scenic layout is a visual treat as well as a player's delight. The 18 holes wind down and around natural red-rock outcroppings, and from the Lower Mesa (front 9)to the Upper Mesa (back 9) there is an elevation change of some 300 feet. Five sets of tees provide for a challenging, yet equitable, golfing experience for players of all calibers.
Didn't bring your clubs? You can rent everything you need. New Cobra rental sets (both steele and graphite) are available for men and women. Tee times are taken seven days in advance or may be reserved up to a year in advance for large group outings. The Lake Powell National Golf Course was the only Arizona facility with green fees of under $50 to receive a four-star rating from Golf Digest.
