Amana Heritage Museum

Industrial Machine Shop Museum

The Industrial Machine Shop Museum dates back to 1860 and was the original repair shop for the Amana Woolen Mill. The museum still contains equipment original to the building. Machinery was driven by a central line shaft and was powered by the water wheel turned by the millrace canal.

Communal Kitchen and Cooper Shop Museum

Authentic Amana communal kitchen house, including kitchen area and dining room, preserved as it was when the communal system ended in 1932. Across the street is the coopershop, where barrels were made.
