Have at least two people in the boat, one to drive and one to watch the skier. If a watcher is not available, a wide-angle ski mirror is required. Remember, nothing beats common sense and courtesy.
Swimming
Swimming is permitted in the swimming beach area located on the north side of the Lake. The beach is closed from midnight to sunrise. No glass, alcoholic beverages, or animals are permitted on the beach
Fishing
Abundant fish populations makes Winfield City Lake one of the best fishing spots in Kansas. A recreation permit and KANSAS FISHING LICENSE are required to fish at the lake. Trotlines, juglines, limblines, and ice fishing are prohibited.
Timber Creek Marina
Located on the south side of the Lake is Timber Creek Marina. This marina provides a number of services to Lake visitors such as food, fuel, boating supplies, and fish bait. Fisherman, campers, boaters, and sightseers will find what they need here during the summer.

During the State waterfowl season, designated areas of the Lake are open to hunting. In addition to State and Federal required licenses, hunters are required to purchase a Winfield City Lake hunting permit at a cost of $7.50 for Cowley County residents and $15.00 for nonresidents.
A $50.00 refundable deposit is required for all blinds that are constructed on Lake grounds.
Only waterfowl may be hunted. Hunting of upland game birds, fur-bearing animals, deer, predatory animals, and the trapping of fur-bearing animals is prohibited.
