The three-story Olde Towne building was completed in 1880, a year after Hillsboro was founded. It was restored in 1887. Over the years, the building has housed a bank, hardware and dry goods store, apartments on the upper floor, and egg processing plant. The building was vacant in the 1960s to the 1970s before it was restored to its original state in 1977. The present owner bought the building in 1985, and the first restaurant opened in 1987.

Tourists are treated to authentic Dutch-German meals featuring our famous Hillsboro sausage and an ice cream float at the Olde Towne Soda Fountain.
