El Dorado Lake Hunting The Flint Hills area surrounding El Dorado Reservoir offers excellent opportunities for quail, prairie chicken, dove, turkey and deer. Pheasants are present but their numbers are low. A substantial number of waterfowl is attracted to the reservoir and the department has established a flock a giant Canada geese on the reservoir.

Squirrels, rabbits, songbirds and numerous other species of wildlife also inhabit the area. Public hunting areas are clearly posted.

Many portions of the area are not open to hunting because of development. Areas open to public hunting within the state park require a state park vehicle permit.
