Lone Star Lake

Swimming, paddle boating, canoeing, fishing and picnicking are just some of the fun activities to enjoy at Lone Star Lake. This scenic lake has a public swimming area, camping facilities, a picnic area with children's playground equipment and a marina. Lone Star Marina rents a variety of boats and is open April 1 to October 1.

From 23rd and Iowa drive two miles south on 59 Highway. Turn west on Douglas County Road 458 and drive seven miles. Turn south on County Road 1 and drive three miles to Lone Star Lake.

Douglas County Courthouse

The Douglas County Courthouse was built of native limestone in 1904. It was saved from demolition in the 1960s when a modern courthouse was built, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is currently in use by the county.
