Douglas County Courthouse

The Douglas County Courthouse was built of native limestone in 1904. It was saved from demolition in the 1960s when a modern courthouse was built, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is currently in use by the county.

Hobbs Park Memorial

The Hobbs Park Memorial is a new public monument located in historic Old East Lawrence, which builds upon the community's abolitionist roots and reminds our state and nation of the viligance and sacrifice freedom requires. The monument is comprised of an 1860s masonry dwelling, the Murphy/
