Huron Indian Cemetery

category : Cemeteries
Huron Indian Cemetery Huron Indian Cemetery, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was established in 1843 after the forced migration of the Wyandot Nation from their homes near Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Abandoned to the elements, many died of typhoid and cholera. The dead were then carried across to sacred ground, a high point over-looking the meeting of two rivers. Many members of the Wyandot Nation of Kansas still reside in the area.
