Located on West 7th Street, the Fairgrounds are fronted by a wall constructed of native Kansas limestone. The main building is also constructed of Kansas limestone and has a large exhibit hall for showing animals at fairs as well a two wings where the show animals are kept. Constructed by the WPA in 1937 it is still in excellent condition. Many out of state visitors are amazed that a town the size of Horton could have such a large "Outstanding Fair Building."
The First Baptist Church is located at 1101 Central Avenue and was charted November 16, 1887, with eleven members. The present church was built in 1915 after the congregation united with the Free Will Baptist Church. In 1946
