Scott State Park Nature Trails

Scott Lake State Park has a multitude of nature trails designed to accomodate hikers, naturalists, and horseback riders, which provide excellent opportunities for visitors to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. Wild turkeys, deer, beavers, and bobcats can be seen in the park's magical setting. Buffalo can be seen near the park, where herds once roamed freely. Although they were decimated by hunting in the 1800's, you now can see them again in their natural habitat or local feedlots. Groves of hackberry, ash, elm, willow, walnut, and ceder trees compliment the banks of Lake Scott. Our park is the perfect recreational setting for wildlife observation, biking, swimming, hiking, and camping.
