Mt. Vernon Chamber of Commerce operates an office and visitor center at the start of the Ozark Mountain Parkway (Route 265), the scenic shortcut to the Branson tourist area. Visitors my stop by and view the restored Frisco caboose and a display of railroad memorabilia while picking up information about Mt. Vernon and area tourist attractions. The courtyard features engraved bricks which helped finance the building project.
