The Chowan Arts Council provides a forum for arts and cultural events and supports a thriving artistic community."A Century of Chowan Through Photographs" is a permanent exhibit depicting life in Chowan County from 1850 to 1954. Located in the Swain School Building along with the Chowan Arts Council and Gallery. This exhibit features a variety of scenes from bygone days. Rotating exhibits throughout the year with opening receptions open to the public for all to enjoy along with an extensive gallery with handmade jewelry, pottery and art work of all mediums making gift selections a must for yourself or someone special to you.
