The lodge is a rustic bed and breakfast getaway in a prime forest setting, along the edge of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy its bubbling creek of clear mountain water, two inviting ponds like miniaturized Waldens, trails, wildlife, specially marked meditation walks, and all the atmosphere and breathtaking beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains range. It is located in the heart of the unspoiled province of Alleghany County near Sparta, NC. Don't be surprised if you see communities of deer, clutches of wild turkeys, red tailed hawks, and a bear with its cub rummaging for berries in the dark woods. Daniel Boone loved this area, and Gerard Manley Hopkins would have relished it, and so would have the likes of Thoreau, Audubon, Teddy Roosevelt, and Winnie the Pooh.
