CCP&D is a non-profit corporation organized for preserving the historic school building built during the WPA-era. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 18, 1998. The second floor and part of the first floor of the building are leased to provide economic development space for businesses that will offer new jobs in this rural area. The first floor of the building houses the Doc & Merle Watson Folk Art Museum, the Jung Tao School of Chinese Medicine, the offices of Cove Creek Preservation & Development, Inc., and a future community room, currently undergoing renovation.
