Built in 1927, the historic Carolina Theatre is one of Greensboro?s most revered downtown landmarks. Originally billed as ?The Showplace of the Carolinas,? the theatre hosted some of the era?s most famous vaudeville performers, as well as being a first run movie palace for silent films. The Carolina Theatre presently welcomes over 70,000 patrons downtown annually to enjoy the rich atmosphere and ambiance of another era while enjoying some of the top entertainment of today. It continues to proudly serve as a community-gathering place for audiences as it honors its mission, Presenting Arts, Preserving History.
