In honor of Pinehurst No. 1's 100th birthday, its greens were resurfaced with Penn G-2. Now the greens will putt truer and smoother, but will be firmer and more difficult to hold. Little has changed on the course's design since Donald Ross' day. Some holes require draws; others require fades. All demand precision. Opened in 1898, Architect - Donald Ross. 18 holes, par 70.
