Joel Lane Museum House

Built circa 1770, this landmark is Wake County's oldest and is celebrated as the "Birthplace of Raleigh." Costumed docents provide guided tours of the plantation Manor complete with Colonial furnishings, family heirlooms, and beautiful gardens. During the 1700s, it was the site of numerous historic political events. Costumed docents tell the story and give tours of the authentically restored house,complete with 18th century collection, furnishings and beautiful period gardens.
