Located on the north shore of Lake Renwick, boating, swimming and fishing for northern pike and other game fish are popular activities. Within the park are the Pioneer Heritage Center and restored historic buildings, which provide a glimpse of North Dakotas homesteading heritage. Also to be found is the Gunlogson Homestead and Nature Preserve. This early homestead preserves the states pioneer spirit, while the 200-acre natural wooded area along the Tongue River is a sanctuary for plants, birds and wildlife. The Wildwood Trail, a National Recreation Trail, winds through the preserve and provides an enjoyable educational tour.
