Oakland, Nebraska

Opened in 1987, Troll Stroll has become one of Nebraska's most unique and charming tourism attractions. A one-of-a-kind nature walk, found nowhere but in the Midwest, the Troll Stroll features a scenic 3/4 mile, wood chip trail through a beautiful forest, several man-made bridges crossing a scenic little stream; and the main attraction, is twenty-four colorful, wooden, handmade "trolls," designed by Oakland-Craig School students. Absoluteley charming.

Swedish Heritage Center

The Swedish Heritage Center is housed in the beautiful former Swedish mission Covenant Church building. Oakland's own Swedish museum and gift shop was opened in 1989 and features free monthly cultural programs.
